Marvin “Mardi” Crocker

Mardi (class of 1955) hit over .400 his senior year in baseball, earning him a tryout with the Cincinnati Reds. During his time in the army he played baseball for the Special Services Division of the 8th Army. Mardi was a three-year standout basketball player, scoring over 800 points. An outstanding runner, he was a member of Lee Academy’s State Championship Cross-Country team. During this era there were no class divisions and as a sophomore Mardi tied for first at the regionals, finished first in the state championship, and finished 10th in the New England meet held in Boston.

Mardi was inducted into the Lee Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2011.
