Lee Academy offers a wide variety of clubs and activities outside of the traditional school day.
In addition to athletics, there are interscholastic teams that compete in math, science, and the arts. There is a strong history of success amongst these groups at Lee Academy. For the 2019 season, the math team was first in both the Eastern Maine region and the state of Maine for our division. Additionally in 2019, the Envirothon team won the northern regional competition and placed third overall and first in forestry at the state competition in 2018. In the theatre arts, Lee Academy students compete annually in the “One Act Play” competition, where they have won both regional and state awards. In 2017, they were invited to participate and perform in a national showcase in Boston.
We also have several opportunities for student leadership and community service at Lee Academy. Students can serve as officers for their class and participate in student council. Students who demonstrate academic success in their junior and senior years may be invited to apply to the school chapter of the National Honor Society. Lee Academy has a robust community service club that is open to all students. In 2017, service learning students were presented the “Teddy Roosevelt Maine Conservation Award” by the “Maine Woods Forever” conservation group for their public outreach work regarding environmental concerns in the community.
